Succulent center-cut pork chops seared to perfection, smothered in a sweet, sticky brown sugar and maple syrup glaze - a crowd-pleasing dish ready in no time.
Ingredients:
  • 0.25 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 0.5 cup maple syrup
  • 3 tablespoons cold water
  • 1 tablespoon quick-mixing flour (such as Wondra®)
  • 0.66666668653488 cup packed brown sugar
  • 4 (4 ounce) center-cut pork chops
  • 1 pinch salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
  • 4 teaspoons brown sugar
Instructions:
  • In a small saucepan, bring the apple cider vinegar to a boil. Lower the heat to medium-low, then stir in the maple syrup. Cover and cook for 10 minutes.
  • Combine cold water and quick-mixing flour in a small bowl and whisk into the maple syrup mixture. Stir in 2/3 cup brown sugar and cook until the sauce thickens, approximately 5 minutes. Keep warm by covering it.
  • Season both sides of the pork chops generously with a sprinkling of salt and pepper.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat olive oil and butter. Add pork chops and cook until browned for about 4 minutes. Using tongs, flip the chops and sprinkle 1 teaspoon of brown sugar over each one. Cook until the second side is browned, about 4 minutes more. Transfer the chops to serving plates and spoon the sauce on top.
