Childhood favorite: Seashell pasta in bacon red sauce. Easy and delicious meal, perfect for kids. Leftovers are just as tasty cold or warm. Enjoy with a side of cornbread.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (16 ounce) package seashell pasta
  • 1 pound sliced bacon, diced
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 (14.5 ounce) cans diced tomatoes, drained
  • 1 (10 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 2.5 cups water
Instructions:
  • 1. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add the seashells and cook for 8 minutes until tender. Drain.
  • In a large deep skillet over medium-high heat, cook bacon until evenly browned, stirring occasionally. Drain off most of the fat, then add onion and cook until transparent. Add diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for about 10 minutes until the sauce thickens. Serve over pasta.
