Whip up fresh, flaky biscuits in just 30 minutes with only three simple ingredients.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups Gold Medal™ self-rising flour
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 3/4 cup milk
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 450°F and lightly grease a cookie sheet. In a large bowl, combine flour and shortening until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in milk until a soft dough forms and begins to pull away from the sides of the bowl.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth, then roll it out to 1/2-inch thickness. Use a floured 2-inch round cutter to cut out the biscuits and place them on a cookie sheet with sides touching.
  • Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until golden brown. Remove from the oven and serve warm.
