Sesame seed-covered tahini cookies with a honey drizzle - a unique and delicious party dessert.
Ingredients:
  • 1 large egg
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter
  • 0.5 cup tahini
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1.25 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 cup sesame seeds, or as needed
  • 2 tablespoons honey, or as needed
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to a toasty 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • Combine butter, tahini, brown sugar, and white sugar until smooth and fluffy using an electric mixer, then add egg and almond extract; mix until well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, sift flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add to the butter mixture and mix until just combined.
  • Spread sesame seeds in a shallow bowl. Shape dough into walnut-sized balls. Coat balls with sesame seeds and place them on 2 ungreased cookie sheets. Drizzle honey over the top.
  • Bake until edges are golden, about 8 to 10 minutes in a preheated oven. Allow to cool for 10 minutes before moving to a wire rack.
