Spicy crushed red pepper and crunchy sesame seeds elevate tender green beans.
Ingredients:
  • 1 lb fresh green beans
  • 2 teaspoons sesame seed
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon reduced-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
Instructions:
  • In a 2-quart saucepan, bring 1 inch of water to a boil. Add the beans and cook uncovered for 5 minutes. Then cover and continue to boil for 3 to 5 minutes more until they are crisp-tender.
  • Heat sesame seeds in an ungreased 8-inch skillet over medium-low heat for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring frequently until they start to brown, then stir constantly until they turn golden brown. Add remaining ingredients and heat through.
  • Drain the beans and generously coat them with the delicious sauce, ensuring every bean is perfectly covered.
