Sesame seed butter cookies, irresistible bite-sized delights.
Ingredients:
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.75 cup white sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 0.125 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 0.25 cup shortening
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 0.25 cup milk
  • 0.75 cup sesame seeds
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare the cookie sheets by greasing them.
  • Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. Cut in butter and shortening until mixture resembles coarse meal. Create a well in the center and add eggs, 1/4 cup of milk, and vanilla. Mix until a soft dough forms. Divide dough into 4 pieces. Roll each piece into a 1/2-inch diameter rope. Cut ropes into 2-inch pieces. Dip each piece in remaining milk, then coat with sesame seeds. Arrange pieces 1 inch apart on prepared cookie sheets.
  • Bake in a preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until beautifully golden brown. Then transfer to wire racks to cool.
