Irresistible seven-layer sliders: juicy burger on sweet Hawaiian rolls with grilled pico, crisp lettuce, jalapenos, guacamole, and cheese.
Ingredients:
  • 3 Roma tomatoes, cut in half, seeds removed
  • 1 1/2 -inch thick slice white onion (from one large onion)
  • 2 large jalapenos, divided
  • 1 teaspoon Kosher salt, divided
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons cilantro
  • 1 (12-piece package) kings hawaiian rolls
  • 1 lb ground sirloin
  • 1 package Taco Seasoning, divided
  • 1/3 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 1/2cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • ½ cup guacamole
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 24 pickled jalapeno slices
  • 12 black olives
Instructions:
  • Get your outdoor grill sizzling hot and give the grate a light coating of oil to prevent sticking.
  • Grill tomatoes, onion, and 1 jalapeno until grill marks form, around 2 minutes. Cool and chop tomatoes and onion. Remove jalapeno seeds if desired, then finely chop. Combine veggies with cilantro, lime juice, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and garlic powder in a bowl to make the grilled pico de gallo.
  • Lower the grill heat to medium-high.
  • Mix together sour cream, mayonnaise, and a tablespoon of taco seasoning in a small bowl until well combined. Set aside.
  • Mix ground beef with the rest of the taco seasoning in a bowl until well combined, then shape into 2 rectangular patties.
  • Cut the loaf of rolls in half lengthwise and place cut side down on the oiled grill. Toast for 1 minute, then transfer to a cutting board.
  • Grill burger patties for 4 minutes, then season the top side with the remaining 1/2 teaspoon of salt and flip. Continue cooking to your preferred doneness, approximately 3 minutes. Lastly, top each patty with cheese and cook until melted, about 30 seconds.
  • Take the mixture off the heat and layer it onto the bottom halves of the toasted buns. Add cheese, guacamole, grilled pico de gallo, lettuce, and sliced jalapenos on top. Spread the desired quantity of sour cream sauce on the inside of the bun tops, keeping any extra sauce to serve separately.
  • Flip the sauced buns onto the sliders, then cut into 12 sliders. Thinly slice the remaining jalapeno. Top each slider with an olive, jalapeno slice, and a toothpick for garnish.
