Decadent Pennsylvania Dutch molasses pie with rich brown sugar and butter filling.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup molasses
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 0.75 cup butter
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 (9 inch) unbaked pie crust
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Combine soda and molasses in a medium bowl, stirring until foamy. Add boiling water and a pinch of salt. In a separate bowl, mix flour, cinnamon, brown sugar, and butter until crumbly.
  • Layer the molasses mixture and crumbs in the unbaked crust in three equal parts, finishing with a layer of crumbs on top.
  • Place in a preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes, or until the crumbs and crust achieve a golden color.
