Shredded Brussels Sprouts Sauté

Quick and delicious side dish of Brussels sprouts and bacon ready in just 25 minutes.
Ingredients:
  • 6 slices bacon
  • 1 1/2 lb fresh Brussels sprouts, trimmed, thinly sliced
  • 2 shallots, thinly sliced
  • 1/3 cup vegetable or chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 can (2.8 oz) French-fried onions
Instructions:
  • Cook bacon in a 12-inch skillet until crispy. Place on paper towels to drain, then crumble and set aside, keeping the flavorful drippings in the skillet.
  • Sauté Brussels sprouts and shallots in bacon drippings for 8 minutes over medium heat, stirring often, until golden brown and soft. Add back bacon, broth, thyme, salt, and pepper. Take off heat. Garnish with crispy onions. Serve hot.
