Quick and delicious shrimp scampi ready in 15 minutes. Saute shrimp and garlic in butter and olive oil, then add wine and red pepper flakes for the perfect sauce. Guaranteed to have everyone asking for more!
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound large (16-20 count) raw shrimp, shelled* and de-veined , (if you want, keep the tail on for an attractive presentation)
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 2-3 tablespoons butter
  • Salt
  • 3-4 garlic cloves, slivered, or 1 Tbsp minced garlic
  • 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (less or more to taste)
  • 1/2 cup white wine (I recommend a dry white wine such as a Sauvignon Blanc)
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped parsley
  • Freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions:
  • Heat butter and olive oil in a sauté pan until the butter melts and foams slightly. Add slivered garlic and red pepper flakes, and stir until fragrant. Add a pinch of salt if using unsalted butter.
  • Add the shrimp and white wine: Sauté the garlic until lightly browned, then add the shrimp. Pour in the white wine, coat the shrimp, and arrange them evenly in the pan. Increase the heat, bring the wine to a boil, and cook for approximately two minutes.
  • Using a spatula, flip the shrimp over to ensure even cooking. Cook on high heat for another minute.
  • Remove the pan from the heat and toss the shrimp with parsley, lemon juice, and black pepper until combined.
  • Enjoy this dish piping hot alongside some crusty bread, pasta, or rice. You can also appreciate it as is or enhance its flavors with your choice of accompaniment. For a gluten-free option, pair it with fluffy rice.
