Spicy Sriracha salmon burgers infused with Asian flavors - a family dinner favorite, buns optional.
Ingredients:
  • 2 (14.75 ounce) cans salmon
  • 0.5 red bell pepper, minced
  • 0.25 cup minced sweet onion
  • 0.75 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 2 teaspoons Sriracha hot sauce
  • 2 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried mustard powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Instructions:
  • Set a colander over a bowl. Add the salmon to the colander, gently breaking the fish apart to help it drain. Allow it to sit and drain for approximately 10 minutes. After draining, discard the juice and transfer the salmon to a large bowl.
  • Combine bell pepper, onion, bread crumbs, eggs, soy sauce, Sriracha, ginger, 1 teaspoon sesame oil, mustard powder, and garlic powder with the salmon. Shape the mixture into 5 patties, then place them on a cookie sheet and cover with plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 1 hour to overnight before cooking.
  • In a large nonstick skillet, warm vegetable oil and 1 teaspoon of sesame oil over medium-high heat. Carefully add the burgers, lower the heat to medium, and cook until golden brown on each side without flipping too often, for about 7 to 9 minutes per side. Transfer the burgers to a serving platter.
