Peach crumble pie: Fresh peaches with nutmeg-butter crumble in a flaky shell, baked until tender and golden. Enjoy with peach ice cream.
Ingredients:
  • 0.75 cup white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 0.33333334326744 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 6 fresh peaches - pitted, skinned, and sliced
  • 1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch single crust pie
Instructions:
  • Combine sugar and butter (or margarine) until creamy. Incorporate flour and nutmeg until mixture becomes crumbly. Press half of the mixture into the pie crust. Layer peaches over the crumb mixture. Sprinkle the remaining crumb mixture over the peaches.
  • Preheat oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C) and bake for 10 minutes. Then reduce heat to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and continue baking for 40 minutes until golden brown.
