Savory ground beef cooked with chili beans, onion, and tomato paste, seasoned with chili powder and salt for a rich, thick chili.
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1 onion, finely diced
  • 0.25 cup chopped green bell pepper
  • 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 6 ounces tomato paste
  • 1 (16 ounce) can chili beans, drained
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
  • 0.5 teaspoon seasoning salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions:
  • In a large, deep skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat until cooked through. Drain any excess fat and break up the beef. Add in the onion, green pepper, tomato sauce, tomato paste, and chili beans. Season with chili powder, hot sauce, seasoning salt, cayenne pepper, and garlic powder.
  • Simmer gently, stirring occasionally, until you achieve your preferred thickness (ideally for at least 1 hour for optimal flavor).
