Delicious skillet turkey with bacon and white wine for a festive twist on a classic holiday dish by Lindsay Ostrom of Pinch Of Yum.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 teaspoons herbes de Provence
  • 6 slices bacon, diced
  • 3 pounds turkey thighs or legs with skin
  • 2 shallots, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil, or more as needed
  • 1 tablespoon butter, or more as needed
  • 0.5 cup dry white wine
  • 1.5 cups chicken stock
  • Chopped fresh parsley for garnish
  • Reynolds Wrap® Aluminum Foil
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Combine flour with salt, pepper, and herbes de Provence, then set aside.
  • Preheat a large ovenproof Dutch oven or cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Cook bacon for 5-8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until crisp. Using a slotted spoon, transfer the crispy bacon to a bowl, leaving the flavorful bacon grease in the pan.
  • Dredge turkey in flour and pan-fry until crispy and golden on the outside. Transfer to a plate, cover with Reynolds Wrap® Aluminum Foil, and set aside.
  • In a pan, combine shallots with olive oil and butter. Saute until soft, fragrant, and golden brown for 5-10 minutes. Slowly pour in the wine, scraping up the browned bits. Add chicken stock and simmer until reduced, for about 5-10 minutes.
  • Return the turkey and bacon to the pan, then dot the turkey thighs with small pieces of butter.
  • Place the pan in the oven and bake for 30-40 minutes, basting with the pan sauce every 15 minutes. If the turkey starts browning too fast, simply cover it with foil. Once a meat thermometer reads 165 degrees F, indicating it's fully cooked, take it out of the oven. Let it rest for 10-15 minutes before serving.
