Try this flavorful crockpot sausage chili with ground chicken, Italian sausage, and beer for a unique twist on a classic dish.
Ingredients:
  • 3 (14.5 ounce) cans stewed tomatoes, chopped
  • 0.5 cup beer
  • 0.25 teaspoon hot sauce
  • 2 beef bouillon cubes
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon chili powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon paprika
  • 0.25 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 0.25 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.125 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 0.5 red onion, chopped
  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 0.75 pound bulk Italian sausage
  • 2 (6 ounce) cans tomato paste
  • 1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans, rinsed and drained
Instructions:
  • In a slow cooker, mix together stewed tomatoes, beer, hot sauce, bouillon cubes, brown sugar, chili powder, paprika, oregano, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper. Cook on High for 1 hour.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, sauté red onion in olive oil until tender; add ground chicken and cook until browned. Transfer to the slow cooker. In the same skillet, brown and crumble sausage, then add to the slow cooker. Stir in tomato paste and kidney beans. Cook on High for 2 hours, then reduce heat to Low and simmer for 4 more hours.
