Slow cook pork roast with onion and cranberry sauce, then make a rich gravy from the cooking liquid.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (1 ounce) package dry onion soup mix
  • 1 (3 pound) pork sirloin roast
  • 1 (16 ounce) can whole berry cranberry sauce
  • 2 tablespoons butter, or to taste
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour, or as needed
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
Instructions:
  • Massage the soup mix onto the pork roast, then place it in a slow cooker. Pour cranberry sauce over the top and cover. Cook on Low for 8 to 10 hours until the pork is slightly pink in the center. Use an instant-read thermometer to ensure it reaches at least 145 degrees F (63 degrees C). Once done, transfer the roast to a platter and keep the delicious juices in the slow cooker.
  • Gently melt butter in a saucepan, then whisk in flour to create a smooth paste. Gradually add reserved juices from the slow cooker, stirring constantly until the gravy becomes lighter and thicker, approximately 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve with the roast.
