Succulent slow-cooked beef short ribs with a flavorful consomme dipping sauce.
Ingredients:
  • cooking spray
  • 3 ribs celery, sliced
  • 2 carrots, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, smashed
  • 5 pounds beef short ribs
  • 1 (10.5 ounce) can condensed beef consomme (such as Campbell's ®)
  • 0.5 (10.5 ounce) can water
Instructions:
  • Coat the slow cooker crock with cooking spray.
  • Layer the celery, carrots, onion, and garlic at the bottom of the crockpot. Season the short ribs with salt and pepper and lay them on top of the vegetables. Pour in the beef consomme and water.
  • Slow cook the ribs on High heat until they are easily pierced with a fork, for 5 to 7 hours.
  • Transfer the ribs from the slow cooker to a platter. Sieve the broth to remove the vegetables.
  • Remove the meat from the ribs, discard bones, and place meat in a bowl. Shred the meat using 2 forks and serve with strained broth.
