Succulent shredded chicken cooked low and slow with water, onion, and garlic for maximum flavor without any salt.
Ingredients:
  • 6 (6 ounce) skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 0.5 large white onion, diced
  • 3 large cloves garlic, minced
Instructions:
  • In the slow cooker, mix together the chicken, water, onion, and garlic.
  • Slow cook until the chicken is tender enough to easily shred with a fork and no longer pink in the center, about 5 hours. Confirm doneness by checking with an instant-read thermometer for a minimum internal temperature of 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).
  • Shred each piece of chicken in a large bowl using 2 forks.
  • Combine the shredded chicken with any remaining juices in the slow cooker to keep it moist.
