Create a delicious tamale pie by slow cooking seasoned ground beef, beans, and cornbread mix for a satisfying meal.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 (10 ounce) can enchilada sauce
  • 1.5 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 (8.5 ounce) package corn bread/muffin mix
  • 0.33333334326744 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 0.5 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
Instructions:
  • In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally and breaking it up as it cooks. Drain the beef and transfer it to a slow cooker. Mix in kidney beans, enchilada sauce, and garlic powder.
  • Combine corn bread mix, milk, egg, and butter in a bowl, stirring until just mixed. Add Cheddar cheese to the mixture. Spoon the corn bread mixture over the beef mixture in the slow cooker.
  • Cook on Low setting, cover, and simmer until the cornbread topping is fully cooked and set, approximately 5 hours.
