Succulent venison stew slow-cooked with wine, tomato sauce, and flavorful herbs for a rich and satisfying meal.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 pounds venison stew meat
  • 3 stalks celery, diced
  • 0.5 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • dried oregano to taste
  • dried basil to taste
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 0.5 cup dry red wine
  • 0.5 cup water
Instructions:
  • In a large frying pan over medium-high heat, heat oil until shimmering. Brown venison in two batches until well caramelized.
  • Layer the celery, onion, garlic, and parsley at the bottom of the slow cooker. Add the venison on top. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, oregano, and basil. Pour in the tomato sauce, red wine, and water. Cover and cook on Low for 8 to 10 hours.
