Slow-Cooker Smoky Barbecue Beef Sandwiches

Quick and flavorful chipotle ground beef hoagies with bold sauces.
Ingredients:
  • 2 1/2 lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef
  • 1 1/2 cups barbecue sauce
  • 1/3 cup teriyaki baste and glaze sauce
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped chipotle chiles in adobo sauce (from 7-oz can)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 10 soft hoagie buns (6 to 7 inch), split
Instructions:
  • In a 12-inch nonstick skillet or Dutch oven, cook the ground beef over medium heat for 8 to 10 minutes until it is fully cooked and nicely browned, while stirring occasionally. Remember to drain well before proceeding.
  • Combine the cooked ground beef with all remaining ingredients in a 3 1/2- to 4-quart slow cooker, excluding the buns.
  • Cover and simmer on low heat for 4 to 6 hours.
  • Before serving, gently mix the beef mixture. Fill each bun with 1/2 cup of the savory beef mixture.
