Prep Time:

Total Time:
8 hours 30 minutes
Tender beef brisket in flavorful teriyaki sauce, cooked low and slow.
Ingredients:
  • 2- to 2 1/2-lb fresh beef brisket (not corned beef)
  • 1/3 cup finely chopped onion
  • 3/4 cup teriyaki baste and glaze (from 12-oz bottle)
  • 1 tablespoon grated orange peel
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
Instructions:
  • Trim excess fat from the beef. Place the beef in a 3 1/2- to 4-quart slow cooker and add the onion on top. Mix the teriyaki glaze and orange peel in a small bowl, then pour over the beef and onion.
  • Simmer gently, covered, for 8 to 10 hours on Low heat setting.
  • Transfer the succulent beef from the cozy slow cooker onto a cutting board and cover it to retain its warmth.
  • Combine water and cornstarch in a small bowl. Gradually blend into the juices in the slow cooker. Increase heat to High, cover, and cook for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally until the sauce thickens. Slice the beef thinly across the grain and serve with the sauce.
