Flattened Brussels sprouts steamed, topped with Parmesan for crispy, cheesy perfection.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound Brussels sprouts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 pinch garlic powder
  • 1 pinch red pepper flakes
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 0.25 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese, or more to taste
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Prepare Brussels sprouts by trimming them and removing any yellow outer leaves.
  • 1. Set up a steamer in a saucepan with water, just below the steamer. Bring to a boil. 2. Add Brussels sprouts, cover, and steam for about 10 minutes until tender. 3. Drain, pat dry, and transfer to a baking sheet.
  • Coat Brussels sprouts with olive oil, garlic powder, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Arrange on baking sheet in a single layer. Flatten Brussels sprouts into patties using a Mason jar or other heavy item.
  • After roasting in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, generously cloak with Parmesan cheese, then broil until the cheese turns a tempting golden brown, roughly 2 minutes.
