Ultimate barbecue chicken: topped with ham, cheese, and smothered in your favorite BBQ sauce.
Ingredients:
  • 4 skinless, boneless chicken breasts
  • ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian-style seasoning
  • 1 (18 ounce) bottle barbecue sauce
  • 4 slices ham
  • 4 slices Monterey Jack cheese
  • 0.125 cup chopped green onion for topping
  • 0.25 cup chopped tomatoes, for garnish
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) to get it nice and toasty for the recipe.
  • Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish and add the chicken breasts. Season them to taste with pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Bake in a preheated oven until cooked through and juices run clear, for about 20-30 minutes.
  • Once the chicken is cooked, take it out of the oven and generously brush on the barbecue sauce. Place a piece of ham followed by a slice of cheese on top of each breast. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is perfectly melted. Finish by sprinkling on chopped green onions and tomatoes before serving.
