Snowball Surprises

Surprise the kids with a fun snowball treat in their lunchbox from The Cheerios® Cookbook, making them the envy of the lunchroom!
Ingredients:
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup creamy or crunchy peanut butter
  • 3 cups Frosted Cheerios™ cereal
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons Betty Crocker™ candy sprinkles
  • 20 small candies
Instructions:
  • Prepare a cookie sheet by lining it with waxed paper. In a 3-quart saucepan, heat sugar and corn syrup over medium heat, stirring frequently, until it just begins to boil. Remove from heat and stir in peanut butter until it melts and becomes smooth.
  • Coat cereal evenly and let cool for about 5 minutes. As it cools, prepare a shallow dish with candy sprinkles.
  • Grease hands with cooking spray, then mold 1/4 cup of cereal mixture around each small candy. Roll them in candy sprinkles, place them on a cookie sheet to cool for about 30 minutes, and store in a loosely covered container.
