Easily whip up a decadent pecan-filled cake with buttery icing using a cake mix shortcut.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (18.25 ounce) package butter cake mix
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups sour cream
  • 0.66666668653488 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 0.5 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.75 cup packed brown sugar
Instructions:
  • Combine the cake mix and eggs, gently fold in the sour cream, then mix in the vanilla, 1 cup of sugar, oil, and pecans until well blended.
  • Spread half of the batter evenly in a 9 x 13 inch pan. Mix ground cinnamon and brown sugar, then sprinkle over the batter. Top with the remaining batter.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C and bake for 50 minutes.
  • Prepare a luscious icing by bringing 1/2 cup of butter or margarine, 1 cup of sugar, buttermilk, and baking soda to a gentle boil. Then, generously prick the cake all over with a fork and pour the warm icing over the cake for a decadent finish.
