Tangy sweetened sour cream complements juicy peaches in a peach pie with a hint of almond extract for balanced flavors.
Ingredients:
  • 0.75 cup sour cream
  • 0.5 cup white sugar
  • 0.33333334326744 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 (9 inch) unbaked pie crust
  • 4 cups sliced fresh or frozen peaches
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) for perfect cooking temperature.
  • Mix together sour cream, white sugar, 1/3 cup flour, and almond extract in a bowl until well combined and smooth.
  • Dust 1 tablespoon of flour evenly over the pie crust to keep it crispy. Layer peaches and sour cream mixture, starting with peaches and finishing with sour cream.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 400 degrees F for 20 minutes, then lower the heat to 350 degrees F and bake for another 35 minutes.
  • Take the pie out of the oven and generously sprinkle brown sugar on top. Turn on the broiler and place the pie back in the oven. Broil until the topping is beautifully caramelized, which should take 2 to 3 minutes.
