Elevate banana bread with tangy sourdough starter, crunchy pecans, almonds, and sweet dried cranberries.
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 cups mashed ripe bananas
  • 1 cup sourdough starter
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 0.33333334326744 cup butter, softened
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.75 cup chopped pecans
  • 0.25 cup sliced almonds
  • 0.25 cup dried cranberries
Instructions:
  • Begin by preheating your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) to ensure the perfect temperature for baking. Then generously grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan to make sure your delicious creation doesn't stick.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whip together sugar, butter, and egg until creamy. Mix in mashed bananas, sourdough starter, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Mix into the banana mixture until just combined. Avoid overmixing. Gently fold in pecans, almonds, and cranberries.
  • Pour the batter into the pan and allow it to rest for approximately 10 minutes.
  • Bake in the oven until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, for 60-65 minutes.
