Create your own tangy sourdough starter with just flour, water, and yeast, letting it ferment to perfection in just a few days.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
  • 1 (.25 ounce) package active dry yeast
Instructions:
  • Combine flour, warm water, and yeast in a spacious glass bowl. Allow the mixture to sit uncovered in a cozy spot overnight or for up to 48 hours to enhance fermentation. Remember, the longer it stands, the more robust the ferment will become.
  • Once fermented, the starter is now ready for use or storage in the refrigerator. Feed it weekly with 1 cup of milk, 1 cup of flour, and 1/4 cup of sugar. Allow it to rest at room temperature for several hours after each feeding.
