Spicy turkey burgers topped with guacamole and salsa for a delicious Southwestern twist!
Ingredients:
  • 2 pounds ground turkey
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 0.25 cup diced yellow onion
  • 0.25 cup plain dry bread crumbs
  • 4 tablespoons garlic-infused olive oil, divided
  • 3 tablespoons seeded and diced fresh jalapeno peppers
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons prepared yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 8 whole wheat hamburger buns, toasted
  • 0.5 cup guacamole
  • 0.5 cup salsa
Instructions:
  • Mix together the turkey, eggs, onion, bread crumbs, 2 tablespoons of oil, jalapenos, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, paprika, chili powder, and cumin in a bowl. Shape the mixture into 8 patties and lightly season with salt and pepper.
  • Heat the rest of the olive oil in a sauté pan over medium to medium-high heat. Add the patties to the pan and partially cover to keep them moist, cooking for about 4 minutes until browned and halfway cooked. Cook for an additional 3 minutes until fully cooked through and reaching an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  • Top toasted buns with patties, guacamole, and salsa.
