Honey soy glazed salmon with asparagus, ready in 20 minutes.
Ingredients:
  • 1 bunch fresh asparagus, trimmed, or as desired
  • 1 tablespoon reduced-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil, or as needed
  • 1 (8 ounce) salmon fillet
  • sea salt and ground black pepper to taste
Instructions:
  • Prepare a steamer by filling a saucepan with water just below the steamer insert. Bring the water to a boil. Steam the asparagus with the lid on until slightly tender, for about 2 to 4 minutes.
  • Whisk soy sauce and honey in a small bowl until the glaze is smooth.
  • Position the oven rack 6 inches from the heat source and preheat the broiler. Cover a baking sheet with aluminum foil and brush it with olive oil.
  • Arrange salmon fillet and steamed asparagus on the baking sheet, then sprinkle with salt and pepper for a flavorful touch.
  • Place the salmon and asparagus under the preheated broiler for 5 minutes. Drizzle most of the glaze over them. Continue broiling until the fish flakes easily, about 3 to 5 minutes. Finish by drizzling the rest of the glaze over the salmon.
