Tantalizing salmon glazed with garlic, soy sauce, brown sugar, lemon, honey, and red pepper flakes for a delectable main dish.
Ingredients:
  • 0.75 teaspoon olive oil, divided
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 0.33333334326744 cup packed brown sugar
  • 0.25 cup soy sauce
  • 0.5 lemon, juiced
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 0.25 teaspoon sea salt, plus more for garnish
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground black pepper, plus more for garnish
  • 0.25 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 4 (6 ounce) fillets salmon
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions:
  • In a small skillet over medium-high heat, warm 1/4 teaspoon of olive oil. Sauté garlic in the hot oil until it starts to brown.
  • Combine sautéed garlic, brown sugar, soy sauce, lemon juice, honey, 1/2 tsp olive oil, sea salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes in a bowl. Transfer the mixture into a large resealable plastic bag. Add salmon fillets, coat with the marinade, press out excess air, and seal the bag tightly. Refrigerate for 1 hour to marinate.
  • Take the salmon out of the marinade and gently shake off extra liquid. Keep 3 tablespoons of the marinade and discard the rest.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, warm 1 tablespoon of flavorful olive oil. Place salmon fillets in the skillet and generously drizzle with the reserved marinade.
  • Cook the salmon covered, basting occasionally with the pan juices, until it is golden brown and flakes easily with a fork, 2 to 3 minutes per side. Sprinkle the salmon with sea salt and black pepper before serving.
