Decadent baked spaghetti casserole with layers of savory meat sauce, creamy cottage cheese, and gooey mozzarella.
Ingredients:
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 6 ounces spaghetti
  • 2 large eggs
  • 0.33333334326744 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 0.25 cup chopped green bell pepper
  • 1 cup chopped tomatoes
  • 6 ounces tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 0.25 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and generously grease a 10-inch pie plate or springform pan.
  • 1. Bring a pot of water to a vigorous boil, then add 1 tablespoon of oil and 2 teaspoons of salt. Add the spaghetti and cook in the flavorful mixture until perfectly al dente, around 12 minutes. Drain the cooked spaghetti and transfer it to a spacious bowl.
  • Combine the eggs, Parmesan cheese, and butter with the spaghetti until fully mixed. Press and shape the mixture into the pie plate to create the crust, then evenly spread the cottage cheese over the crust.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, sauté beef, onion, and green pepper in 1 tablespoon of oil until beef is fully cooked and crumbly, about 5 to 7 minutes. Add tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, oregano, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and garlic powder, and mix well. Spread mixture over cottage cheese.
  • Place in the preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes. Add mozzarella cheese on top and bake for an additional 5 to 10 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
