Vibrant citrus and aromatic star anise elevate this beef and snow pea stir-fry for a burst of flavor.
Ingredients:
  • 250g dried rice vermicelli noodles
  • 80ml (1/3 cup) vegetable oil
  • 1 large brown onion, halved, thinly sliced
  • 200g snow peas, trimmed
  • 600g beef stir-fry strips
  • 20.00 ml shredded fresh ginger
  • 2 whole star anise
  • 2 tsp finely grated orange rind
  • 28.60 gm honey
  • 2 x 160g Kan Tong Honey Soy & Garlic meal base sachets
  • 110g (2 cups) bean sprouts
  • 1 bunch fresh coriander, leaves picked, coarsely chopped
  • 24.00 gm sesame seeds
Instructions:
  • Place the noodles in a heatproof bowl and cover with boiling water. Let them sit for 10 minutes until soft, then drain. Mix in 2 teaspoons of oil and toss well before dividing into serving bowls. Enjoy!
  • Heat the remaining 2 tablespoons of oil in a wok over high heat. Stir-fry the onion until golden, about 4 minutes. Add the snow peas and stir-fry until tender crisp, about 2 minutes. Transfer to a bowl.
  • Heat the rest of the oil in the wok on high heat. Cook beef, ginger, and star anise for 2-3 minutes until almost done. Stir in orange rind, honey, and meal bases and bring to a boil. Mix in onion mixture and bean sprouts. Cook for 1 minute until heated. Finish by adding coriander and tossing to combine.
  • Sprinkle sesame seeds over the beef mixture and noodles.
