Spiced beef skewers with yoghurt sauce

Indian-spiced beef skewers with naan and yogurt sauce - a flavorful and satisfying dish.
Ingredients:
  • 800g beef rump steak, trimmed, cut into 3cm pieces
  • 1/2 tsp chilli powder
  • 27.30 gm olive oil
  • 2 Lebanese cucumbers
  • 125.00 ml no-fat plain Greek-style yoghurt
  • 3 tomatoes, halved, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 small red onion, thinly sliced
  • 4 naan breads, warmed
  • Fresh coriander sprigs, to serve
  • Lemon wedges, to serve
Instructions:
  • In a large bowl, combine beef, cumin, coriander, chilli powder, and 1 tablespoon of oil. Mix well to coat the beef. Skewer the beef evenly onto 8 skewers.
  • Preheat a barbecue plate or chargrill on medium-high heat. Grill skewers, turning occasionally, for 8 minutes for medium doneness or until cooked to your preference.
  • Peel 1 cucumber and grate it. Halve both cucumbers lengthwise, remove the seeds, and thinly slice the unpeeled one. In a small bowl, mix the grated cucumber with yogurt and garlic. In a large bowl, combine the sliced cucumber with tomato, onion, and remaining oil.
  • Arrange the naan, skewers, salad, and yogurt sauce on plates, and garnish with fresh coriander sprigs and lemon wedges before serving.
