Irresistible gingerbread cookies infused with tangy orange, impossible to hide the enticing aroma.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1.5 cups white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon molasses
  • 3.25 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon ground ginger
  • 2 teaspoons ground cloves
  • 2 teaspoons ground cardamom
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 0.25 cup orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • In a large bowl, whip together butter and sugar until creamy. Add molasses and egg, beating well. Combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and cardamom in another bowl; gradually mix into the creamy mixture with orange juice. Finally, fold in the orange zest.
  • Roll out the dough on a floured surface to 1/8 inch thickness. Use cookie cutters to cut out shapes and place them on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake in a preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes until edges are lightly browned. Allow the cookies to cool on wire racks.
