Elevate baked tofu with a zesty marinade of soy sauce, hoisin sauce, chili sauce, and fresh ginger for a burst of delicious flavor.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (12 ounce) package tofu
  • 2 tablespoons Japanese low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Asian chili sauce
  • 2 tablespoons minced fresh ginger root
  • 1.5 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • cooking spray
Instructions:
  • Place tofu on a plate lined with paper towels, then cover it with more paper towels. Place a heavy plate on top and allow the tofu to release liquid for 5 to 30 minutes. Cut the tofu into 1/2-inch strips.
  • In a large resealable plastic bag, mix together soy sauce, chili sauce, ginger, and hoisin sauce. Add tofu, coat well with the marinade, remove excess air, and seal the bag. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour to marinate.
  • Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) and lightly coat a baking sheet with cooking spray.
  • Take the tofu out of the marinade and gently shake off any extra. Place it on the baking sheet. Dispose of any leftover marinade.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, flipping halfway until firm.
