Spicy English Seven-Layer Salad

Delicious seven-layer salad with pasta shells, julienned carrots, curry powder, and brown sugar - a refreshing and flavorful favorite at barbeques!
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups small seashell pasta
  • 4 carrots, peeled and julienned
  • 0.5 head leaf lettuce - rinsed, dried, and chopped
  • 1 medium cucumber, peeled, seeded, and diced
  • 0.75 cup frozen green peas
  • 0.5 cup frozen whole-kernel corn
  • 2 cups mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon curry powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
Instructions:
  • Bring a pot of gently salted water to a boil. Cook pasta until tender, around 7 minutes. Drain and rinse with cold water to cool.
  • Create a beautiful layers in a large glass bowl: start with carrots, then lettuce, followed by a mixture of cucumber, peas, and corn, and finally top with the cooled and drained pasta.
  • Combine mayonnaise, brown sugar, curry powder, and garlic salt in a bowl. Spread the mixture over the pasta, then sprinkle with shredded Cheddar cheese. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
