Crispy Korean fried chicken with sweet and spicy gochujang sauce - a flavorful Asian delight.
Ingredients:
  • 0.33333334326744 cup milk
  • 1 pound chicken breast tenderloins
  • 0.25 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 cup potato starch
  • vegetable oil for frying
  • 0.25 cup honey
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons gochujang (Korean hot pepper paste)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
Instructions:
  • In a large bowl, thoroughly combine and smooth out the milk and egg mixture with a whisk. Marinate chicken tenders in the egg wash in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, potato starch, salt, and pepper. Transfer the mixture to a large resealable plastic bag. Remove and discard marinade from chicken tenders. Add chicken to the bag, seal it, and shake until each piece is evenly coated with the mixture.
  • Heat oil in a deep-fryer or large saucepan until it reaches 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
  • Carefully place 5 chicken pieces into the hot oil to maintain its temperature. Fry for 2 minutes until golden brown. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Repeat with the remaining chicken pieces.
  • Heat oil to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) until boiling. Add first batch of cooked chicken and fry for an additional 2 minutes until crispy. Drain on paper towels and repeat with second batch. Transfer all chicken to a serving bowl.
  • In a small saucepan over medium-low heat, combine honey, brown sugar, soy sauce, gochujang paste, Worcestershire sauce, red pepper flakes, and ginger. Stir constantly until sugar melts and sauce is smooth, approximately 5 minutes. Pour over twice-fried chicken tenders before serving.
