Delicious Halloween chocolate cookies made easily with Betty Crocker™ Sugar Cookie Mix. Perfect for a spooky party!
Ingredients:
  • 1 pouch (17.5 oz) Betty Crocker™ Sugar Cookie Mix
  • Flour, butter and egg called for on cookie mix pouch for cutout cookies
  • 3 tablespoons unsweetened baking cocoa
  • 1 tablespoon meringue powder
  • 2 tablespoons cold water
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  • Combine the cookie mix, flour, and cocoa in a medium bowl. Mix in the butter and egg until a soft dough forms. Roll the dough out to 1/4 inch thickness on a floured work surface. Cut the dough using a 4-inch gingerbread cookie cutter and place them 1 inch apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Bake for 6 to 8 minutes until set. Let cool for 1 minute, then transfer to a cooling rack to cool completely.
  • In a medium bowl, use an electric mixer to beat meringue powder and cold water until peaks form. Gradually mix in powdered sugar for about 1 minute until soft peaks form. Transfer mixture to a 12-inch piping bag fitted with a #3 tip. Pipe a skeleton design on cookies and allow the icing to set for about 5 minutes.
