Elevate your meal with a homemade steak sandwich loaded with all the toppings and paired perfectly with crispy fries.
Ingredients:
  • 1kg packet frozen chips
  • 175g rashers bacon, trimmed
  • 4 (200g each) beef minute steaks
  • olive oil cooking spray
  • 8 slices white bread, toasted
  • 81.68 gm whole-egg mayonnaise
  • 1 bunch rocket, trimmed, washed
  • 4 large slices tasty cheese
  • 3 tomatoes, sliced
  • 225g can sliced beetroot, drained
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 220°C. Spread out the chips on a baking tray and bake as per the instructions on the packet.
  • Preheat a non-stick frying pan or barbecue plate over high heat. Cook bacon for 1 minute on each side until golden. Transfer to a plate and keep warm.
  • Drizzle oil over both sides of the steak. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Sear steaks in batches of 2 for 2 minutes per side for medium doneness, or to your desired level of doneness.
  • Start by layering 4 slices of toast on a flat surface. Spread half of the mayonnaise on the toast. Next, layer on rocket, steak, cheese, bacon, tomato, and beetroot. Spread the remaining mayonnaise on the other 4 slices of toast and place them on top to create a sandwich. Secure the sandwich with toothpicks or cocktail sticks, cut in half, and serve with hot chips. Enjoy!
