Elevate New York strip steaks with a quick truffle butter made from 4 ingredients for an added burst of umami.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 teaspoons truffle oil
  • 0.125 truffle, thinly shaved
  • sea salt to taste
  • 4 (6 ounce) New York strip steaks
Instructions:
  • Prepare the truffle butter by combining butter, truffle oil, shaved truffle, and sea salt in a bowl. Chill in the refrigerator for a minimum of 1 hour.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) with a baking pan inside.
  • Season the steaks with a sprinkle of sea salt and freshly ground pepper.
  • Heat oil in a heavy skillet until shimmering over medium-high heat. Sear steaks until browned, about 3 minutes per side, working in batches if needed.
  • Take the sizzling hot baking pan out of the oven and transfer the seared steaks into it.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes until steaks are firm but still juicy and pink in the center. Use an instant-read thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 130 degrees F (54 degrees C) for medium-rare perfection.
  • Allow the steaks to rest for 5 minutes.
  • Garnish each steak with a luxurious touch of 1 tablespoon of truffle butter.
