Indulge in the irresistible scent of caramel sticky buns at breakfast.
Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 package (4-serving size) butterscotch or vanilla pudding and pie filling mix (not instant)
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 package regular active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm water (105°F to 115°F)
  • 2 3/4 cups Original Bisquick™ mix
  • 1/2 cup pecan halves, if desired
Instructions:
  • Combine brown sugar, dry pudding mix, butter, milk, and cinnamon, creating a delectable mixture; then set it aside.
  • In a medium bowl, combine yeast with warm water until dissolved. Stir in Bisquick mix until soft dough forms. Transfer dough to a well-dusted surface with Bisquick mix. Knead until smooth, about 20 times. Add up to 1/4 cup of additional Bisquick mix if needed to reduce stickiness.
  • Roll out the dough into a 15x9-inch rectangle. Evenly spread three-fourths of the pudding mixture over the dough. Roll the dough tightly starting from the 15-inch side. Seal the edge well by pinching it. Cut the roll into 9 slices.
  • Spread the rest of the pudding mixture evenly in an ungreased 9x9x2 inch square pan. Sprinkle pecans evenly over the mixture. Arrange the slices slightly apart in the pan. Cover and allow them to rise in a warm place for 25 to 30 minutes, or until doubled in size.
  • Preheat oven to 375°F. Bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes until golden brown. Quickly invert pan onto heatproof serving plate and let it sit for 1 minute before removing.
