Transform angel food cake into a decadent frozen treat for a heavenly experience in every bite!
Ingredients:
  • 1 quart (1 lb) fresh strawberries, quartered (3 cups)
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated)
  • 2 tablespoons orange-flavored liqueur or orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon grated orange peel
  • 1 loaf (8 oz) angel food cake
  • 2 cups whipping cream
  • 16 fresh strawberries, sliced
Instructions:
  • Prepare two (8x4-inch) loaf pans by lining them with plastic wrap, leaving 4 inches of overhang on the short ends. In a food processor, pulse quartered strawberries until almost pureed with some small pieces remaining. Mix the pureed strawberries with milk, liqueur, and orange peel in a large bowl until well combined.
  • Prepare the angel food cake by removing any dark brown crust and cutting it into 3/4-inch cubes. In a large bowl, whip the cream with an electric mixer until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream and cake cubes into the strawberry mixture. Evenly spoon the mixture into pans, cover with plastic wrap, and freeze for at least 5 hours until firm.
  • Before serving, let the dessert thaw for 5 to 10 minutes. Unwrap and place on a serving platter, then remove the plastic wrap. Finally, top the loaves with strawberry slices for a beautiful finish.
