Tropical vibes with refreshing strawberry and lime.
Ingredients:
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ White Cake Mix
  • Water, vegetable oil and whole eggs called for on cake mix box
  • 1 box (4-serving size) Jell-O™ strawberry-flavored gelatin
  • 1 tablespoon grated lime peel
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons rum extract
  • 1 tub (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy Vanilla Frosting
  • 2 teaspoons grated lime peel
  • 8 fresh whole strawberries
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pan). Grease and flour bottom of 13x9-inch pan, or use baking spray with flour. In a large bowl, mix cake ingredients with an electric mixer on low speed for 30 seconds, then on medium speed for 2 minutes, scraping the bowl occasionally. Transfer the batter to the pan.
  • Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow to cool completely for about 1 hour.
  • Mix the lime frosting ingredients until smooth. Spread the frosting evenly over the cake. Store the cake loosely covered at room temperature. Before serving, halve each whole strawberry with leaves on and use them to garnish the cake. Store the cake loosely covered in the refrigerator.
