Delicious strawberry jam sweet bread, perfect for breakfast, can be made ahead and frozen.
Ingredients:
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.75 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup strawberry jam
  • 0.5 cup buttermilk
  • 1.5 cups white sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 0.25 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and generously grease two 9x5-inch loaf pans.
  • In a bowl, mix together flour, salt, cream of tartar, and baking soda; set aside.
  • Combine luscious strawberry jam with tangy buttermilk; let flavors mingle.
  • In a large mixing bowl, mix sugar, butter, vanilla extract, and lemon juice until light and fluffy using an electric mixer. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Alternate adding dry ingredients and strawberry jam mixture, mixing until combined. Gently fold in walnuts.
  • Pour batter into the pans, making sure to distribute it evenly.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for around 55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow to cool for 15 minutes, then transfer from pans to cooling racks.
