Strawberry jam nestled between almond topping and a brown sugar crust, making a deliciously sweet cookie bar.
Ingredients:
  • 1.25 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.33333334326744 cup brown sugar
  • 0.75 cup strawberry jam
  • 0.75 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 0.75 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Combine 1 1/4 cups flour, 1/2 cup butter, and 1/3 cup brown sugar in a bowl, then press into a 9-inch square pan.
  • Bake until golden brown in the preheated oven for approximately 15 minutes.
  • Spread the luscious strawberry jam almost to the edges of the golden baked crust. In a bowl, combine 3/4 cup flour, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup butter, 1/2 teaspoon almond extract, and a pinch of salt until it forms a delightful crumbly texture. Sprinkle this delectable mixture over the jam layer.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes until lightly browned. Allow to cool completely.
  • Combine confectioners' sugar, milk, and almond extract until silky; drizzle over chilled bars.
