Festive holiday or summer salad: Flavored gelatin with strawberries and angel food cake.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (18.25 ounce) package angel food cake mix
  • 1 (6 ounce) package strawberry flavored Jell-O®
  • 1 (16 ounce) package frozen strawberries
  • 1 (12 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1 cup water
Instructions:
  • Combine flavored gelatin with boiling water in a large mixing bowl until dissolved. Mix in cold water and frozen strawberries. Refrigerate until slightly thickened to the texture of egg whites. It may reach this stage while mixing in many frozen strawberries.
  • Cut the cake into bite-sized cubes, remove the dark brown edges if desired. Delicately combine the cake and frozen whipped topping with the strawberry mixture. Refrigerate until firm. Garnish the top with extra whipped topping and strawberries.
