Delicious stuffed peppers filled with savory ground beef and rice, topped with flavorful Italian tomato sauce. Serves six.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 0.5 cup uncooked long grain white rice
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 6 medium green bell peppers
  • 16 ounces tomato sauce, divided
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.25 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Instructions:
  • First, collect all the ingredients needed for the recipe, and then preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • In a covered saucepan, bring water and rice to a boil. Lower the heat and simmer gently until the rice is tender, about 20 minutes.
  • Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook ground beef until perfectly browned and crumbly, for about 7 to 9 minutes.
  • Prepare the bell peppers by removing the tops, seeds, and membranes, ensuring they can stand upright by slicing the bottoms if needed.
  • Place the peppers in a baking dish with the hollowed sides facing up.
  • Combine the cooked beef, cooked rice, half of the tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to make the filling. Fill each hollowed pepper with an equal amount of the filling.
  • Combine the rest of the tomato sauce with Italian seasoning in a bowl, then drizzle the mixture over the stuffed peppers.
  • Roast in the hot oven, brushing with sauce every 15 minutes, until peppers are soft, for around 1 hour.
  • Indulge in while piping hot!
