Best Sugar Cookie Cutouts: Delicious flavor even without frosting.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 3.75 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 0.25 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 0.5 cup colored sugar for decoration
Instructions:
  • Combine the butter and sugar in a medium bowl until creamy. Mix in the eggs and vanilla. Alternate stirring in the sifted flour and baking powder with the heavy cream into the mixture. Cover the dough and refrigerate for 2 to 3 hours until it's firm.
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and generously grease your cookie sheets.
  • Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to 1/4 inch thickness. Use cookie cutters to create your favorite shapes. Arrange the cookies 1 inch apart on the baking sheets. Sprinkle with colored sugar, if desired.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 14 minutes until cookies are lightly browned on the bottoms and edges. Transfer to wire racks to cool, then store in an airtight container.
